  • Interview @ Sing Tao - [說英文的中文大學]

    This morning, Susie and I went through a really toungh interview with Ms Cheng, the marketing director of Headline Daily, a free newspaper in Sing Tao News Corporation. This interview is for a group presentation in Media Management course, focusing on the business modles of two free newspaper in HK, Headline Daily and am 730.

     

    Since we’ve smoothly finish an interview with the senior marketing manager in am 730, Susie and I never thought that we would get so frustrated at Sing Tao. Before this interview, we have been asked to fax our student ID to the marketing director’s secretory twice, let alone their reply to our interview request was a week late.

     

    Anyway, the opportunity to interview practitioners in media industry was acquired with a lot of efforts, so we went there with the hope to get as much information as we can. However, it turned out that the director excelled herself in deflecting the questions skillfully. All we could get was her despise towards am 730, which she claimed that was part of the competitors of Headline Daily in the all media market. As for the questions related to datas and percentages, she even refused to tell one word to us, though she was smiling all the time during the interview. Wow, I should say, the most important lesson I learnt from this interview is that---try to avoid interviewing the female marketing manager of director, coz they will be much tougher than the males!!!

     

    Since she kept secret about most of the figures that we intended to figure out, the analysis on Headline Daily becomes sort of a barrier~~~~The presentation is on next Wednesday, God bless us!

     

    ANYWAY, the ocean-view conference room is appealing~I wish to have a seat by this kind of ocean-view window!

  • 志萍师姐好，关注你的blog很久了，最后一次在学校见到师姐是师姐毕业前的最后一次党会，那次党员们还和团学第二届的委员在食最鲜聚餐（那是学院为数不多的几次拔鸡毛之一），现在看到师姐被香港中文大学录取，仿佛我的快要死了的心又复活了。我刚刚参加工作，以为可能一切都成定局了，但实际上真的真的还不甘心就这样下去。很想多读点书，多学点东西。很想能有机会向师姐请教请教。师姐如果不介意可否把您的邮箱地址发给我，我想邮件交流会不会不那么容易打扰到师姐。谢谢。我的邮箱：solitudine@yahoo.cn

  • 原本涉及到具体数据的采访就很难，尤其对象本身就是媒体，而你们不是记者，所以，不要觉得太沮丧了…… 换做是我们这边的领导，估计更加守口如瓶，and without the smiling……
